Androids are constructs of plastic, copper, steel and silicon that have been imbued with an artificial intelligence.

Description

Androids seem to have been modeled after humans. Which seems peculiar because it is not believed that they were created by humans. They have the same general body size, external structure, and features as humans, though their faces tend to lack what humans would refer to as characteristic emotions. They do not have wrinkles or blemishes, and their skin tone is homogenous.

Internally androids are very different from humanoids. Just below the surface of their imitation skin is an endoskeleton that protects their internal workings. It is made of an incredibly strong plasteel alloy. Throughout this endoskeleton are pipes that transfer hydraulic fluids and lubrication to the various moving parts like the arms and leg joints.

Androids' bodies are able to be modified internally and externally, giving them a varied appearance and capability. They are even able to change their programming, having new upgrades added or old ones removed.

Abilities

Androids enjoy a number of advantages and suffer from several disadvantages due to their inorganic nature. On the plus side they cannot be infected by diseases, be blinded, or take damage from mind affecting psionic attacks. They do not get tired, thus never run out of endurance. All androids are created with a rudimentary knowledge of how to repair their own systems.

On the other side, their lack of cerebral tissue means androids have no access to powers which require psi. They can be vulnerable to high radiation in some areas, which spreads like a disease through their circuitry.

Androids have internal batteries, weapons, and shield systems which may be upgraded. They need a constant energy supply, and may draw it from objects that have an electrical charge.

Due to incompatibilities with their circuitry, androids may not use cyberware intended for humanoids. They also may not use Bioenhancement to improve their statistics, they must go to a specialized enhancement area.

Androids may not be cloned, and they will lose all installed hardware on death.
