The headbangers are a group of psionicists.

Description

Their name is more of a common joke among non-psionicist folk than a real name, but their real name has been lost among the ancient stories of the psionicist profession.

Headbangers are called such because of their tendency to overload their psionic ability, thus having their heads explode. This was an unfortunate side effect of the wild psionic forces that the headbangers have access to.

After a few dozen psionicists died in the horrible manner of having their heads explode like shrapnel grenades, the elders designed a copper staff which is the headbanger's prized possession. They have to ground this staff occasionally, draining off their excess psi points into the environment, thus saving them from a horrible fate. A headbanger without his staff turns into a drooling, panicing, idiot with no ability to defend himself for fear.

This subprof is recommended for experienced players ONLY. It is inevitable, you will die at some point as a headbanger.
