Polaris

Polaris is a frigid world of ice and snow at the edge of its solar system.
Polaris is a barely inhabitable planet at the edge of its solar system. It holds a Terran-like atmosphere, and thus it was colonized, but life there is tenuous at best. The day time temperatures rarely getting above -50 degrees Celsius. In a shaded area on the dark side of a mountain, it can easily drop to nearly -100 degrees. Effectively freezing unprotected human flesh in mere moments. Despite this, there are still several species native to Polaris, all of which have thick natural hides and incredible amounts of fur and blubber.
The planet is a rugged world. Covered with cave-filled mountains and deep rifts. All colonized settlements were created at the equator in the warmest possible regions.
There is a small space station orbiting the planet, serving as a jump point for locations on the surface.
