StarMUD players have the choice of nine different professions: Cavaliers, Convicts, Cybermages, Cybermercs, Hyve, Marines, Martialists, Psionicists, and Scientists.
StarMUD also has had a few other professions in the past which have been permanently closed: Damned, Pack, Headhunters, Priests, and a few others that never materialized, like the Mockers.
