Irts are two-foot wide intelligent Koosh balls.

Description

Irts are simply two-foot wide balls of fluff entirely covered in a coating of extremely thick fur that are more like tendrils. Male irts are naturally bright blue and females are naturally bright pink, although they tend to bleach and then dye their fur outrageous colors. Rumors also exist of a secret sect called the 'Black Irts of Doom' who dye their fur completely black. They have no apparent external organs besides their fur.

Abilities

Irts are not very strong nor hardy, although they are still able to manipulate and pick up objects using their fur as a collection of tentacles. This doesn't give them the dexterity to wield weapons, but it does allow them to carry objects and perform basic manual tasks like pushing buttons and opening doors.

Irts are very limited in the armor they can wear, only being able to use stuff specifically created for them by other races. In combat, irts use their entire body as a weapon, bouncing at an opponent with surprising speed and force. Due to this frequent abuse of their bodies, they tend to take less damage from attacks. As well, their fur contributes a cushioning effect. Unfortunately, their tendrils are very sensitive to heat.

Irts can survive in the airless vacuum of space, through some yet unknown process.

Since irts do not have senses as most humanoids do, they are able to see in complete darkness. As well, since they do not have any way to ingest food, they do not eat or drink.
